5 Things to keep in Mind while choosing the Best IAS coaching in Delhi

Any institute will prepare a blueprint that you are supposed to follow for almost a year (may be more!) To qualify in the final list of prestigious Civil Services, one requires a lot of preparation & character. It will not happen by chance.

There is a plethora of material available for preparation, both online & offline. So much so that it puts enormous pressure on the aspirants. This is where the coaching institute comes to the rescue.

It should provide all that is needed to get a coherent source of study material that saves your time and effort. Secondly, there is a non-academic part to this preparation as well. At times, things beyond our control start affecting our performance, and it happens with the best of the people.

The exam is not concerned with any of your traumas, be it emotional, physical, personal, or very personal! During these times, one needs a mentor & a support system to help sail through. So look for the institute that can come to your rescue when needed (institute shall not be your agony aunt but push you to study & motivate you to score well in tests).

Finally, your course would end in a year, but the updates will keep coming till your exam & even beyond. You study IR in paper three, which changes with one foreign trip of the PM. All it takes is a Constitutional amendment or a Supreme Court verdict to change the dynamics of the Constitution, which you thought was limited to your notes.

The Economic Survey & Budget comes annually, but you finished coaching two years back. So how do you know the latest? Do you know how to update yourself on the active part of the syllabus? And if there is a doubt, can you get in touch with your teachers on emails even after your classes or meet them even once a month for few hours in the institute you studied?

Is there any provision of tests and answer writing in the institute? Nowadays, many institutes claim they make students practice answer writing from day 1. I ask HOW? To write well, you must know well.

How is this possible on day one or even in a month? Not reading few newspaper articles requires a thorough understanding of the subject. Answer writing is critical but writing it from 1st day is a marketing gimmick.

Five things to keep in mind while choosing the best IAS coaching in Delhi

1. Checkup the credentials of the teachers who may handle different subjects. Some IAS coaching in Delhi has a brilliant teacher for a particular subject but not necessarily for all the other subjects. So while choosing the coaching, the foremost important thing is that faculty is available at the coaching for your knowledge enhancement.

2. Always try to look into the academy's infrastructure because for almost one year or even for more than that, you have to sit there while taking the classes. The subject material is also crucial for the student. The subject material they provide and other such details are sacred for students while preparing for civil services examinations.

3. Please checkup the past results of the IAS coaching in Delhi through authentic sources before enrolling in the institute. You can find in Delhi that A single student's picture is demonstrating in a lot of coaching center's banner, so be sure before joining the institutes that, in reality, the student has taken coaching from that particular institute or not.

4. Serious advice is that don't go by the brand name. Some IAS coaching has built their reputation and living in the past glory. So please verify their performance in the last few years.

5. Some other essential things are clarity in covering the syllabus means how much time they are taking while covering the syllabus, effectiveness, and efficiency means that good to pour so much money in that coaching? You should be very clear about the fees, which are not negotiable in most of these coaching classes, so before joining the classes, take at least 2 to 4 demo classes.

Lastly, I request all of you to visit the institute attend the demo classes, talk to the students who are already enrolled there for honest feedback, watch their YouTube lectures, and then decide by yourself.

Happy learning to all of you, and best wishes!
